The optically connected isolators PS9587, PS9587L1, PS9587L2, and PS9587L3 have a photo diode and a signal processing circuit on the output side and an AlGaAs LED on the input side on a single chip. The PS9587L1 and PS9587L2 are made particularly for high common mode transient immunity (CMR), high speed digital output type, and extended creepage-distance. The TOSHIBA TLP2601 is a photocoupler with an integrated high gain, high speed photodetector and an IRED as the emitter. A transistor with an open collector and Schottky clamps serves as the detector circuit's output. The effects of capacitive coupling between the input LED emitter and the high gain stages of the detector are lessened by a Faraday shield built into the photodetector chip. GaAsP LEDs are found in the HCPL-4506 and HCPL-0466 while AlGaAs LEDs are found in the HCPL-J456 and HCNW4506 devices. The inbuilt high gain photo detector and the LED are optically connected. These optocouplers are great choices for reducing switching dead time in inverters to increase inverter efficiency since there is minimal propagation delay difference between devices.
